Retro done right
This game is great for the same reason the NES and Gameboy-era games it mimics were great: It commits to a single core game mechanic (stretching your dog to ridiculous lengths, around corners, etc.) and sticks with it to the end. The game remains fun and fresh throughout without ever introducing new mechanics by constantly finding new ways to exercise the one you already know. And when you finally clear the game? Its an awesome feeling.
This game is a blast, and I would recommend it to anyone.
